The Geography syllabus is designed to stimulate an interest in and a sense of wonder about places. It aims to help students make sense of a complex and dynamically changing world. It explains where places are, how places and landscapes are formed, how people and their environment interact, and how a diverse range of economies, societies and environments are interconnected. It builds on students' own experiences by investigating places at all scales – from the personal to the physical.
Lessons will be planned to be active and engaging through the use of role play, websites, interactive games, atlases, books, artefacts and costumes resourced from around the world. It inspires students to think about their own place in the world, their values, and their rights and responsibilities to other people and the environment. Cross curricular links exist with termly topics studied in History and Science.
