Meet our Classroom Teaching Specialists

Liam Murphy
Liam Murphy
Senior Teacher

Liam brings a wealth of international education knowledge to the role of Senior Teacher where his varied responsibilities include acting as Deputy for the Principal.

Liam is a qualified and experienced educator having studied at the highly regarded University of Surrey in the UK gaining a BA (Hons) in English Literature with Creative Writing and gained postgraduate qualifications in both teaching and in languages. Liam was previously the Director of a large international kindergarten chain and previously held the position of Director of Studies. He has taught in the UK, Japan, Mainland China, and Hong Kong.

Liam's personal focuses in education are related to mental health awareness and supporting children in their language development, be it first, second, or even third languages and he has been a lecturer on these topics to both educators and parents.

In his free time, Liam is an avid hiker and spends his free time trekking the wonderful landscape of Hong Kong.

Janelle Marsden
Janelle Marsden
Teacher Librarian and Classroom Teaching Specialist

Janelle is a highly qualified classroom teacher and has recently gained a further Master's Degree in Teacher Librarianship, so is ideally qualified to lead the development of the Library Learning Hub at Oxbridge School. She has taught at international schools in the UK and in Hong Kong and was Head Teacher of a Pre-School in Australia.

As well as her keen interest in books and education, Janelle has an interest in flying aircraft, holding a restricted pilot's licence, and has undertaken solo flights. 

Tony Ryan

Classroom Teaching Specialist

Tony was educated in the U.K at King's College, Taunton, and then studied at University in Birmingham. His first career was as a British Police Officer for 13 years where he also taught at the Police Training College and found his love of teaching others. Since then he has worked as a teacher in both China and Hong Kong and completed his PGCE in primary teaching.   

He is particularly interested in phonics, and has published a book on the subject.  He is also an accomplished novelist. At Oxbridge School, he will also teach extra curricular sports clubs. 

Amy Davidson
Amy Davidson
Classroom Teaching Specialist

An experienced teacher, Amy joins us in August from Safa British School in Dubai where she has been working as a Class teacher and a member of the Teaching and Learning team, sharing best practice with colleagues across education.  She holds a BA Hons Degree in Education and Training and a PGCE from Nottingham University.

Previously Amy taught at schools in both Dubai and in the UK and also as a volunteer teacher working with orphanages in both Uganda and Romania. 

 

 

Tanny Liu
Tanny Liu
Mandarin Teacher

Tanny holds both a Bachelors's Degree in Language and Literature and also a Master's degree in Education (Early Childhood Education). She completes a PGDE in teaching Chinese as a second language and also holds an IBPYP certificate. 

Previously working at schools including Mount Kelly Hong Kong School, she speaks several languages and is fluent in Japanese.

May Cameron
Special Education Teacher

May holds both Bachelor's and Masters's degrees in Special Education and trained initially as a primary teacher with a specialism in Geography and Maths.

May is also undertaking a second Master's degree in Advanced Teaching and Education Leadership.  She comes to us with a great deal of experience both internationally and in Hong Kong, including teaching at ESF and at the American International School.
