There is a saying that “You are what you think”.  An average person has 6,200 thoughts per day, some thoughts are related to our surroundings, and some are just our subconscious thoughts. Our thoughts shape our personalities, our relationship with others, and how we deal with our current and future. In theory, we don’t have full control over those 6000 something thoughts, but we can train ourselves to learn with a more positive approach.

 

Our mind is just like a muscle, it can be trained. If a person can go to gym weekly to achieve a greater health, we surely can train our mind and help to train our children’s mind to achieve a greater wellbeing.

 

Wellbeing is a vital part of life at Oxbridge School.Our wellbeing programme is taught in lessons and through the weekly assemblies, all Oxbridge students are introduced to skills and tools to enable them to take good care of themselves both physically and mentally. 

 

 

Children are the future leaders of society, and we take seriously our great responsibility guiding them toward a successful and happy future. Oxbridge is a firm believer in happy learning and learning in action with the thought that “a happy student is a successful student” and “a successful student is an over achieving student” always close to our hearts and mind.  At our school, students are immersed in the Intelligently British curriculum, and strive for outstanding achievements academically. The core values of our education are that we encourage students to ask questions and to develop critical thinking, skills that will be essential in the unknown future. Each lesson is filled with engagement between teachers, and our happy students  are eager to raise up their hands to ask or to answer questions! They can even ask a question about  the answer, not always accepting the first response. Through the interactive lessons,  students are also able to learn in a dynamic way. The learning life in Oxbridge is never dull!

 

 

Alongside the academics, all Oxbridge students get timetabled PE lessons and outdoor Games sessions since we know that healthy and active students achieve so much more. These lessons enable them to move their bodies and learn in action through fun-filled activities. Sweat and movement can help to generate dopamine, which is a key element that leads to a good mood!  Field trips, outings, and volunteering are also essential parts of Oxbridge life in which the students absorb knowledge and social skills well beyond the classrooms. 

 

 

Weekly assembly is one of the highlights of Oxbridge life, and each week we have a themed assembly led by different classes. In our Wellbeing assembly, the Principal talked about the importances of wellbeing and the tactics such as moving our bodies regularly, drinking plenty of water and expressing gratitude and thankfulness to maintain our physical and positive mental health.  

 

 

We are also a reading-orientated school, in which we recognise the importance of reading for wellbeing in our school. Books open doors for students to the worlds of knowledge, dreams and imagination. Each week, every student has a timetabled reading lesson and, we also have designated reading time during lunch hour. We believe books can broaden children’s horizons, ignite creativity, and most importantly provide enjoyment and pleasure. We want all Oxbridge Students to develop life-long reading habits.

 

Overall wellbeing enhances children’s intrinsic motivation, increases academic achievement, improves school satisfaction, and leads to the flourishing of individuals. In short, those who feel better can learn better! That’s why Oxbridge School is filled with positive thoughts, joy, and praise.
