Matilda the Musical - Oxbridge School Annual Musical 2026
Now that our students have had time to catch up on some well-deserved sleep, we would like to thank them for their participation and stage performances in this year's school musical, “Matilda”.
Oxbridge students sang and acted their hearts out for the production, which took place at the Y Theatre. The cast amazed us with their incredible routines. The Wormwoods (and Rudolpho) — Amiya, Asher, Francis, and Rohaan — made us laugh often with their ‘backwards’ way of thinking and played their parts with energy. Miss Honey, characterfully played by Amelie, sang beautifully and showed a great portrayal of the kind character. The villain headteacher Trunchbull, played by Tato, encapsulated the dark character of this leading role to perfection. We also noted the strong stage presence and voices of Ian T as Bruce and Sophia as Lavender, together with the committed performances of the Escapologist (Charles) and Acrobat (Mavis).
When auditioning for the Matilda role, we knew we had some serious talent on our hands. Our Matilda — Caitlin — worked hard and impressed us with the quality of her voice and utterly convincing portrayal of the lead character with special powers.
Effective stage makeup, costumes, and a multitude of props enhanced the show, and the professional lighting, sound, and student backstage teams all contributed to a truly memorable performance.
Many thanks to Oxbridge staff, but in particular our co producers Ms. Khadeeja and Mr. Dean, who dedicated so much inspiration and insight into this production.
Well done to you all! See you at next year's musical!
